We received a special visit from Unified Fire Authority, our children learned about emergency procedures.

Children can respond appropriately during an emergency avoiding anxiety, fear or frustration.

The Surprising Educational Benefits of Exploring Local Corn Mazes

Promote Outdoor Exploration: Going into an unfamiliar environment is exciting, allows kids to explore new terrain and observe their surroundings. Give kids a chance to see where food comes from and connect with nature in a meaningful way.

The children got the opportunity to explore the Museum of Natural Curiosity, Science and nature came alive in the Discovery Garden and in Water Works, where interacting with wind, water, and earth expanded their understanding of the natural world.

As part of our Mision, we are completing our Nature Explore certification.

Outdoor Classroom Project

An Outdoor Classroom is a space for children to interact with the natural world through play-based and multi-sensory activities. The goal of the Outdoor Classroom is simple: to increase the quantity, quality, and benefits of outdoor experiences for children.

Researchers have established that to nurture the whole child, early childhood education needs to follow the fundamental principle that children are learning everywhere and all the time.

Instead of developmentally-inappropriate early academics, children need a broad variety of learning experiences and opportunities to grow in areas such as gross and fine motor development, social-emotional development, language development, and creative expression.

Mastery of the skills associated with these areas is critical for healthy development and later academic success and requires an educational format that is very different from a traditional elementary classroom.

The outdoor classroom evolves from the real needs of children, offers activities that are personally meaningful to them, and fully embraces developmentally-appropriate practices in early care.

Early Learning Standards: Ages 3-5

The purpose of the Utah Early Learning Standards is to help preschool programs and parents make informed decisions regarding developmentally appropriate practice and progression across academic content areas in order to help prepare children for kindergarten.
